The Gramyanchal Postgraduate College situated at Barabanki, securing affiliation to Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya, Awadh University, Faizabad in 1998, has emerged as prominent centre for higher learning in rural area. Chasing its mission to produce student with knowledge, social concern and nation development vision, college is on the way to touch the Zenith of success. Under person ship its founder Mr. Surendra Nath Awasthi and efficient administrator of Smt. Prema Awasthi College is caring new verse of achievement day by day. With in a very short span of times this humble beginning has been transformed into a premier educational establishment of the barabanki of the district with faculties of science, art, commerce, b.ed, B.P.Ed. Along with post graduate programmed in hindi and Sanskrit

Education is process of development and progress. Haidergarh in this regard has been too backward. During the decade 1960-70 there were only three High Schools in this tahsil. After middle standard, most of students either used to sit at home or their parents used to send them to far off places for Intermediate and Higher Education. The conditions of girls were pathetic because there were no means for their Education. After 1975 public representatives and social activities made efforts for Higher Education but due to differences of opinion they were not successful.

During the tenure of Chief Minister ship of late Sri. Veer Bahadur Singh, efforts were made to open a degree college but due to politics it could not be achieved. Therefore, this area remained neglected from Higher Education. Illiteracy and paucity suffering society of this area could get full advantage of education; hence present M.L.C. Sri Surendra Nath Awasthi, without caring government efforts in this direction established “GRAMYANCHAL SEWA SAMITI” under the guidance of this samiti foundation stone of this degree college was laid on 24/10/1993.
Studious, dedicated wife of Sri Surendra Nath Awasthi ji, Smt. Prema Awasthi ji, is determined for all round development and progress of this degree college.

The place where this degree college is established was a barren laid and villagers were very of many orthodox and superstitious proverbs. But where public good in mind, nothing could deter the achievement. How are the ideas flouring can be gauged form all round development of this degree college. This college started with 100 students is having now 1000 students on its roll.

Our Aim:
The real education should reach to the utmost backward class under the guidance of trained, dedicated professors and this process should continue is our ultimate aim.

Our Objective:
In the changed scenario all round development and public utility service is our objective. Our aim is that each and every resident of this area should be educated and self reliant and in coming years Medical, Law Literary, Technical and Agriculture Science etc.. Curriculum are on lion to be added.

Built Up of Degree College:
This degree college is spread over on 100 acre land. Its main magnificent and attractive gate is located on Lucknow – Varanasi National Highway. Beside this, there are three other entry gates.
